Updated: 5 hours ago

Our first episode is here! Innerspace Counseling is excited to introduce In Our Space, a mental health podcast, a new way to share meaningful conversations about mental health, treatment, and finding support.
Every day, our team helps people make sense of difficult experiences, build skills, and move toward a life they believe is worth living. With In Our Space, we’re bringing our collective expertise beyond our walls and into conversations you can listen to wherever you are.
Whether you’re seeking information for yourself, supporting someone you love, or working with individuals and families, we invite you into our space.
Episode 1: Perinatal Mental Health—Understanding PMADs & When to Seek Help
Pregnancy and postpartum are often described as joyful times. But what happens when someone’s experience feels very different from what they expected? How do we make room for honest conversations about mental health and help people recognize when they need support?
Our first episode explores perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and seeking help during pregnancy and postpartum.
This episode is hosted by Innerspace Counseling's Director of Clinical Services Ira Hays, LCSW, joined by Founder & CEO Ajita Shah, LPC, NCC, ACS, PMH-C and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Ololade "Lola" Ekwere, PhD, APN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, PMH-C, for a conversation designed to make this important topic more understandable and approachable.
The episode offers a starting point for expecting and new parents, partners, loved ones, and professionals who support families during the perinatal period.
You don’t need to have all the answers to begin a conversation or reach out for help.
